The NBS Templates for Autodesk® Revit® are project or family template files which have been pre-loaded with the shared parameters required by the NBS BIM Object Standard.
The templates can be used to streamline the adoption of the NBS BIM Object Standard by eliminating the need to load each shared parameter individually, and manually sort the property into the correct group. When used alongside the NBS Shared Parameters file the Autodesk Revit templates will aid you in providing consistent data standards and parameter GUIDs across your BIM ready business.
To use the template files, simply download the zip file containing the set of templates and save them to your templates folder for the next time you create a Revit family or start a new project. To create a new system family, such as wall or floor assemblies, simply open the project template, navigate to the desired type in the project browser and copy it into your current project. For a list of which templates are available and the suitable uses for each template, please see the table below.

Building Information Modeling (BIM) with the Autodesk Revit Platform offers the ability to easily configure save and deploy a standard working environment. Standardizing on district neutral and project agnostic Revit template will ensure that graphic representations, data syntax, taxonomy and software environment are consistent, and that the end deliverable will satisfy industry and USACE CAD/BIM standards.
Autodesk Revit Architecture 2014 Templates Downloads
The USACE and Autodesk collaborated to create a BIM Template Team consisting of seasoned CAD/BIM Managers with a working knowledge of Revit. Each member has specific disciplinary strengths and shared a draft working district specific Revit template with the team. Each of the district’s templates were critiqued and tested by the group, and by teams going through BIM Implementations. The feedback was debated and the group decided on revisions and enhancements that supported the intent, purpose and general needs of the USACE.
The upfront time and effort required to set up, configure, and coordinate a Revit project and environment can be minimized significantly by deploying a Revit template file (.rte). Revit templates will increase graphic and non graphic consistency across teams, districts and divisions. Templates will provide a team with a common starting point and will improve the overall USACE product and brand.
Note about template Versions:
The current versions of the templates have been created from 'Out of the Box' versions of Autodesk Revit 2019 & 2020. These versions of the template cannot be used with versions of Revit earlier than 2019. The “USACE Revit 20xx Template v4.3 - Base & Architectural” download contains two templates: the USACE 4.3 BASE Template and the USACE 4.3 ARCH Templates.
